Rey Norman: Well J.Smith, how are things goin these days?

J.Smith:  Pretty good ray   how u doing these days too?

RN: It's great to finally be able to get this new interview with you. i have so many questions.

J.Smith:  Well, it's my pleasure to be able to do this interview at this time-  anytime

RN: First Off, Finally there is a certifyed date for your long awaited solo! Are you nervous?

J.Smith: Naa  man,  I'm soo damn excited  i can't wait to release it.  It all finally came to me. You know,  when i was gonna release it  it wasn't up to my standards that what i like or what the fans of the Dynasty and of me would actually just sit there and listen to it over and over.  It really didn't feel right for me to release something that i was working on before, but now as i sit there rereading the lyrics and seeing the song in my head  its a guarenteed hit cd the first week- i swear it's definatly gonna go platninum first week!  

RN: Do you feel pressure to follow up the other Dynasty Spirits releases? Groups and solos?

J.Smith:  Ah man do i feel pressure from the Dynasty releases past and present?  Ummmm  naa not really  i feel the pressure from myself the most- cause like i said it's gotta hit a level that it feels right.  I'm a perfectionist as u probably know already.  Ummm,  maybe alittle pressure from Tazz cause you know you gotta top each brother.  He reached a level sololy, now it's my turn to reach that plus some.  U know what i mean.

RN: i hear you and your girl are now 7 months! Congrats!

J.Smith:  Ohhh thanks bro, thanks alot-  can't complain at all at this time-  I'm just enjoying life  and the title of my solo fits perfectly how i feel and am at this time  The American Dream  hahaa

RN: I noticed you and Tazz has past relationships with other celeberties now the two of you are dating normal non famous girls. Is it better that way?

J.Smith:  Ummm either way, depends on how you do it and how much you put into the relationship.  You know the past ones we were young and upcoming and rich bitch. Haha  you know we are partiers now that were alittle older we've both wised up and saw what was up and here we both are in successfull situations.  So, to answer your questions  it depends opn the individuals and how you act.

RN: May i ask how you two got together?

J.Smith-  Well, you know- I just whipped it out and here we are. Naa  we hung out a few times we went to Yankee games together and one night she told me how she felt, i took it into consideration.  One month later we went to another Yankee game and during the 7th inning stretch i took her into the tunnel that led us to the field view and i asked her to make it official  and here we are.

RN: That is nice. i am happy for you. You truley do have it all! Or do you think Different?

J.Smith:  The only thing i dont have right now is the number one album sololy- that's the only thing that i do not have right now  and i plan on reaching that goal.  Besides that kid  naa im on top of the world.

RN: So the famous pimp boots are offically hung up?

J.Smith-  lol,  yeahh you can say that for now- cause you still never know what the road ahead holds for you.  Funny you said that  I was thinking of a song title like that for a hit on my album.  I'll take that into consideration again.

RN: After almost two years since "Back to Business" and almost a year since you appeared on Tazz's last solo- is there any rust on ya- or any expectations you have?

J.Smith:  Ummm, you know the usual  when anyone takes time off and then they go back in- it's probably gonna take me a few times but then it'll just run right off my and i'll be on fire you know how it goes.

RN: I'd like to take a quick right turn real fast- What is the deal with you and Militant? I thought it was over and done with?

J.Smith:  One thing to another- we quiet right now- nothing bubbling over right now.  We may not still be seeing eye to eye.  I'm being good for now till i step in and record the single against a hater.  That's all i'm sayin bout that subject for now.

RN: Do any feeling from 2004 still linger now?

J.Smith: Umm, they may still be in the air-  probably  i'm not saying their not cause we really never settled that shit really.  I dunno but probably may be one little piece of the puzzle.

RN: Many will wonder if the battle with him and only realing the track on your solo is a way to get you to sell records? is this a publicity stunt to get record sales?

J.Smith:  lol,  Well if it sells records and brings me to number one than sure the hell with it, it is then.  Honestly naa not at all.  I could have recorded like 4-5 songs towards him by now but have'nt because i've decided not to.  I've decided to put it on the main stage and put it on one's solo album so with all the other hits  you just gotta click to next and there it is. 

RN: I hear Tazz is a nutral- does that bother you. that and that he and Militant are doing an album together?

J.Smith:  Naaa not one bit I dont need him on my side to  to squash a beef, or kill a career.  I'm glad for him let him do a album with him whatever puts food on the table and all  you know.

RN: There are Rumors that this past Saturday, You and Militant were seen together in a club and nothin went down. Is that true. Did you two settle it or are they just that- rumors?

J.Smith:  No, we were in the same club together.  i decided not to make a scene or anything like that cause the next day it would be in the headlines that J made a scene in the club with Militant there.  Was it for building up sales, or like the question you asked before  for publicity stunt.  I dont need to always make a scene everywhere i go  well almost everywhere i go.  You know me. 

RN: So, Any big producers on you solo or is it all you?

J.Smith:  Honestly  i got one person producing my album- well finding beats for me  cause I'm on a tight schedule wqith other projects and other matters.  I got Tazz either finding beats or producing beats for my enyire album.  I'm putting my success in his hands for now.  I'm still gonna have final say on it but i got him beating up my album.

RN: Wow, Tazz! So, you must have been impressed with his last solo work and producing skills. That is huge!

J.Smith:  Naa i'm just trusting a brother.  Besides that  he finds good shit and he kows what im looking for  so i kinda have a sidekick with this album.

RN: When can we expect a new Dynasty Spirits album??

J.Smith:  Ahhh man kid, your killing me.  lol  ummmm, honestly  i dont know.  But who knows cause llike i always say who knows what the future holds for us.

RN: When it comes time to make it, is it gonna be just you and Tazz or will Militant and Johnny L be involved?

J.Smith:  You should know this answer you always hear me sayin it and also Tazz at times.  AND THEN THERE WAS TWO

RN: Is there anyone in the game today that you would wanna collaberate with and do a track?

J.Smith:  Ahhh man, ummmm  maybe Busta bust, TI comes to mind, maybe slow one down with Usher, Diddy at any time, Em, umm ohh Lil john of course too.

RN: Does the untimely passing of Proof make you look obver your shoulder and watch your back when you are out in clubs and in public in general?

J.Smith:  Ohh of course with no doubt.  I'm in the mist of getting a squad together for protection, and I'm also taking a page outta 50's book of getting a bulletproof made up also just for extra protection cause you just never know at anytime your time on earth may be finished.

RN: Do you worry you Girl can be a target in a song or in general?

J.Smith:  Oh ya,  of course but if that ever happens  you know i will take that shit to a whole NEW level if anything like that ever happens.

RN: You never know who may be out to hurt you or take you spot.

J.Smith: Exactly, they know out there what you bring i, what you do,   they know your carrying some good presidents in your pockets or they know your a seller  they wanna take the competition out.  Thats all it takes is one pull. 

RN: What track on your solo will stand out the most ?

J.Smith;  Ohh damn soo many to name right now,  I really cant say at this time.

RN: Well, i can't wait. Is there anything you wanna say to the fans?

J.Smith:  Sure,  thank you for all the support and love you guys give me and the Dyansty.  Be on a look out this summer you know whats it about, I'm the Amnerican Dream nuttin else.
